Map Update INA-W910R

Please register at alpine.naviextras.com. Download the "Toolbox" from the download area before following the Map Update instructions for your Alpine navigation device.

Alpine.naviextras.com is the official map update portal for Alpine.

 

Some alpine.naviextras.com site features, including buying updates, require that your device is registered. 

 

Please register your INA-W910R and your required personal data within Naviextras Toolbox, which is a free PC-tool.

Requirements and limitations:

  • Windows XP (SP 2) / Windows Vista (32-bit ver.) / Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit ver.)
  • SD card with 8 GB or more capacity recommended, FAT32 formatted
  • The SD card Player of INA-W910R can’t be used during the update.


 

 

Download Map Update Tool

 

 

 

 


1) Download <<MU_INA-W910R_Synctool_10_08_12.zip>> to your PC.

2) Connect an empty SD card to your PC.

3) Extract the file (i.e. with Winrar/ WinZip / IZArc) onto the SD card. The folder “autorun” needs to be in root directory of the SD card.

4) Safely remove the SD card from your PC.

5) Power on INA-W910R by turning on the ignition and select „Navigation“ as Source.

6) Insert the SD card into INA-W910R.

7*) Synctool starts up. Press the button “Switch tts language”.
TTS: Text-To-Speech feature providing more detailed voice guidance information by announcing street names.



8*) Select your TTS language from the list.
Warning: All other TTS languages are moved to SD card as backup. This process takes up to 10 minutes.
Warning: Do not delete contents on SD card and store the SD card safely as you will need it if you decide to change the TTS language again. The languages can’t be restored without the backup on the SD card.

* Note: Steps 7) and 8) are required if a Map Update is carried out the first time with this new Synctool and if the selected TTS language is switched again.

9) Press the button “Collect device information”.


10) Press “Ok” once Update or Backup successfully completed without errors.


11) Press “Quit”.


12) Press “Yes” to quit synctool.


13) Remove the SD card, then press “Continue”. INA-W910R restarts automatically.

 


14) Connect the SD card to your PC.


15) Click on the below link and follow the instructions on Naviextras.com website how to download and install Naviextras Toolbox.

16) Start Naviextras Toolbox. The SD card will be recognized as your Navigation device. Purchase and install content and updates as described within Naviextras Toolbox.
Note: depending on your system, the Toolbox might offer you updates for the navigation software of the INA-W910R.
In this case proceed with steps 17 – 23. After the update was applied, start over at step 16. Make sure the Toolbox was closed before you insert the SD Card.

17) Safely remove the SD card from your PC. Power on INA-W910R by turning on the ignition and insert the SD card again.

18) Synctool starts up. Press the button “Copy updates to your device”.


19) Press “Yes” to initialize the update.


20) Press “Ok” once Update or Backup successfully completed without errors.


21) Press “Quit”.


22) Press “Yes” to quit synctool.


23) Remove the SD card, then press “Continue”. INA-W910R restarts automatically.


 

Service Information

The following information is quite important for the service handling if you opened an account at Naviextras.com and purchased additional updates for your INA-W910R, in addition to the original installed software package!

 

The INA-W910R creates an individual software identification number called SWID, during first boot up of the system. This software identification number will be transfered to Naviextras.com while you purchase an update for your INA-W910R. This is made in order to guarantee Copyright protected issues. Your device and your account for this device will be recognized on your next visit at Naviextras.

 

Alpine Service are using PDF fomat for these forms and would firstly like to explain how these forms should be completed, for those of you that do not have acrobat installed on your computers these forms can be completed using Acobat Reader which is available as freeware, here is a link to download Acrobat Reader, Reader 9 or above will be required for these forms: (Adobe Reader X (10.1) will be needed for .pdf with embedded videos)..

Get the SWID number on your INA-W910R

The SWID is important for service handling, since you will lose your SWID number if:

  • Your dealer/your service station exchanges your INA-W910R to another one.
  • The service replaced the Main PWB.
  • Your INA-W910R needs a complete re-installation of the firmware and software.
