Map Update INE-W920R / INE-W925R / INE-W928R

Please register at alpine.naviextras.com. Download the "Toolbox" from the download area before following the Map Update instructions for your Alpine navigation device.

Alpine.naviextras.com is the official map update portal for Alpine.


Some alpine.naviextras.com site features, including buying updates, require that your device is registered.


Please register your INE-W92xR and your required personal data within Naviextras Toolbox, which is a free PC-tool.

2. Alpine Map Update

The navigation map update of your INE-W92xR should be supported by using a (Micro) SD card. This allows easy transfer of the map update to your navigation system INE-W92xR. During the update only
 revised or new content will be transfered from the (Micro) SD card.

Requirements and limitations:

  • Windows XP (SP 2) / Windows 7
  • Micro SD card with minimum 4 GB recommended (INE-W920R / INE-W925R)
  • SD card with minimum 4 GB recommended (INE-W928R)

 

1) Download <<MU_INE-W92xR_Synctool_xx_xx_xx.zip>> to your PC.


2) Connect an empty (Micro) SD card to your PC.


3) Extract the file (i.e. with WinZip / IZArc) onto the (Micro) SD card. The folder “autorun” needs to be in root directory of the (Micro) SD card.


4) Safely remove the (Micro) SD card from your PC.


5) Insert the (Micro) SD card into INE-W92xR.
INE-W920R / INE-W925R: Remove the detachable faceplate to access the Micro SD card slot.
INE-W928R: Open the display to access the SD card slot on the right hand side.

 

6) Apply the detachable faceplate (INE-W920R / INE-W925R) / Close the display (INE-W928R) and power the unit on by turning on the ignition.


7) Synctool starts up. Press the button “Collect device information”.


8) Press “Ok” once Update or Backup successfully completed without errors.


9) Press “Quit”.


10) Press “Yes” to quit synctool.


11) Remove the (Micro) SD card, then press “Continue”. INE-W92xR restarts automatically.


12) Connect the (Micro) SD card to your PC.


13) Click on the below link and follow the instructions on Naviextras.com website how to download and install Naviextras Toolbox.

14) Start Naviextras Toolbox. The (Micro) SD card will be recognized as your Navigation device. Purchase and install content and updates as described within Naviextras Toolbox.


15) Safely remove the (Micro) SD card from your PC and insert it into INE-W92xR as described above. Power the unit on by turning on the ignition.

 

16) Synctool starts up. Press the button “Copy updates to your device”.

 

17) Press “Yes” to initialize the update.

 

18) Press “Ok” once Update or Backup successfully completed without errors.

 

 

19) Press “Quit”.

 

20) Press “Yes” to quit synctool.

 

21) Remove the (Micro) SD card, then press “Continue”. INE-W92xR restarts automatically.

 

 

 

Service Information

The following information is quite important for the service handling if you opened an account at Naviextras.com and purchased additional updates for your INE-W92xR, in addition to the original installed software package!

 

The INE-W92xR creates an individual software identification number called SWID, during first boot up of the system. This software identification number will be transfered to Naviextras.com while you purchase an update for your INE-W92xR. This is made in order to guarantee Copyright protected issues. Your device and your account for this device will be recognized on your next visit at Naviextras.

Get the SWID number on your INE-W92xR

The SWID is important for service handling, since you will lose your SWID number if:

  • Your dealer/your service station exchanges your INE-W92xR to another one.
  • The service replaced the Main PWB.
  • Your INE-W92xR needs a complete re-installation of the firmware and software.
